Home Adaptations for Independent Living

Advocacy - Expertise - Solutions

We bring an expertise to all types of accessibility modifications and renovations with extensive new construction and remodeling experience along with specialized training in aging-in-place and accessibility issues. We can assess, design, contract for and supervise retrofits and renovations both large and small to meet the specific needs of each of our clients.

Simply put, our mission is to enable people to remain in their homes - in whater style they choose, for as long as they want - safely, comfortably and independently.

In addition, we not only work directly with clients and their families but also provide consulting services to the healthcare community, builders, insurance companies, social service agencies, special needs trusts and elder law attorneys to aid them in evaluating needs and designing individualized solutions for their clients.

In 2009, recognizing the need many people have to modify their homes to accommodate aging requirements, Susan became certified as an Aging-in-Place Specialist through the National Home Builders’ Association as well the University of Southern California’s Andrus Gerontology Department. HomeSmart now specializes in offering accessibility modifications geared towards people of all ages with a variety of disabilities.
